What are the program goals?

Memorial Lutheran School and Preschool exist to build the training of children upon the love of God and His powerful Word of Life.

The overall goal of preschool is to provide preschool experiences that assist parents in nurturing the spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of their young children.  We believe this goal can be reached when children learn by doing hands-on, active experiences that are develop-mentally appropriate for preschool children. At Memorial Lutheran Preschool your child will experience a unique and special education and will be treated in an atmosphere of Christian love, care, trust, and respect.

How are the preschool goals accomplished?

Based on the latest research of early childhood education, we believe that children learn best by pursuing personal interests and goals.  Children at Memorial Lutheran Preschool are encouraged to make choices about materials and activities throughout the day.

Specifically, these goals are accomplished with:
  • Activities that exercise children’s bodies,
  • Experiences and stories that encourage children to explore God’s world, to solve problems, and to express feelings,
  • A social environment that encourages children to play and talk with each other and with adults,
  • Teachers who recognize the individuality of each child’s abilities and needs.

What is Bible Time?

During Bible Time in every classroom, children will grow in Christian faith through Bible stories, Bible verses, and Christ-centered songs and prayer.  The principles of Christianity as confessed by our church, and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod of which we are members, will be taught in a child’s language so that they may come to know, love, and serve God.  By teaching the Bible through fun activities, children will find joy in learning God’s Word and want to share their love for the Lord with others.

Further Benefits of our Preschool and Kindergarten

Our curriculum is integrated with the elementary school curriculum for a seamless transition to kindergarten.

The preschool and kindergarten teacher is the same person. This allows for your child to have a loving, trusting relationship with the first teacher of his/her school years.

You become a member of the Memorial Lutheran school family.  This is a small, close-knit family with members from the congregation and school.
